Enchanté, Verdi!

Monday 29 April at the premises of the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris

The Parma UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation joins the Teatro Regio at the Italian Culture Institute of Paris for the “Enchanté, Verdi!” event to present the 2024 calendar of the Festival Verdi and Verdi Off.

As announced by IIC director Antonio Calbi, the event will take place on Monday 29 of April starting at 6 p.m. at the institute’s headquarters, the Hôtel de Galliffet, with institutional greetings. Speakers will include Michele Guerra, mayor of Parma and president of the Teatro Regio of Parma; Luciano Messi, superintendent of the Teatro Regio of Parma; Alessio Vlad, artistic director of the Teatro Regio of Parma; Barbara Minghetti, curator of Verdi Off and of the Teatro Regio of Parma’s Special Projects; Federica Galbesi, director of ENIT France; Edilia Gänz, director of Fedora; Claudio Franchini, CEO of Parma Incoming.

The performance “A letto con Verdi – Verdi, Macbeth & Lady” (In Bed with Verdi – Verdi, Macbeth & Lady) by Compagnia Animanera will follow. The show is a real sensory journey through the most extreme and radical work of the great composer from Busseto, near Parma.

Participating to the event is a great honour for the Parma UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation, a prestigious opportunity to spotlight Parma’s food and wine excellences, complemented by the prestigious cultural events organized by the Teatro Regio.

Tour operators and journalist will attend and the evening will end with a tasting of the best PDO and PGI products from the land of the Duchy, proposed by Parma Quality Restaurants Chef Ambassadors coordinated by Parma Alimentare.

The prestigious brands of Parma Food Valley’s top products will be present and featuring: tomato (Mutti and Rodolfi Mansueto), anchovies (Rizzoli Emanuelli, Zarotti and Delicius), pasta (Barilla), milk (Parmalat) and other PDOs such as Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Parma Ham, and PGIs like Salame Felino and Coppa di Parma. The menu includes wines from Vini dei Colli di Parma.
